What is SAP S/4HANA Configuration
The latest ERP solution of SAP S/4HANA from SAP SE, is a standard software and is typically customized to the company’s requirements during implementation. Through customizing, companies can map their corporate structure and business processes in the SAP S/4HANA system, tailor them to their needs and optimize them by comparing them to established standard processes. The individual settings on individual modules enable the broad and cross-industry use of SAP S/4HANA.

Conducting a scenario-based implementation project
During the course, you will be guided through structured case studies that systematically show you the steps required to customize the Financial Accounting, Materials Management and Sales and Distribution modules.
Scenario-based case studies guide you step by step through all the necessary tasks to configure the individual modules according to the individual requirements of a company. In doing so, you define all the necessary organizational units and process parameters that are required for effective use of the individual modules. Once these structures have been enriched with relevant master data, you turn your attention to working on a corresponding business process in order to check the configurations you have made in practice and ensure that everything works smoothly.

Implementation of the modules
This case study is the first of a total of 3 phases and teaches the basics of customizing in the area of finance. The exercise deals with the configuration of the corporate structure and the business processes of finance and includes:
- the definition and customization of relevant organizational units and process parameters,
- the definition of core data relevant to finance and
- editing and testing the associated business process.
After completing the first case study and implementing the basics in the area of finance (phase I), the second phase for the materials management area follows. The associated case study deals with the configuration of the company structure for purchasing in the materials management module and includes:
- the definition and adjustment of relevant organizational units and process parameters,
- the definition of core data relevant for the MM module and
- editing and testing the associated business process.
After completing the first two case studies and implementing the basics in the areas of finance (phase I) and materials management (phase II), the third and final phase follows for the area of sales. The associated case study deals with the configuration of company structures and business processes within the sales module and includes:
- the definition and adaptation of relevant organizational units and process parameters,
- the definition of core data relevant for sales and
- editing and testing the associated business process.
Customizing in SAP Fiori
During the case studies, participants are shown how they can change and adapt the Fiori interface to their individual needs.
