SAP S/4Hana...

What is THE DIFFERENCE TO THE PREDECESSOR SAP Enterprise Core Component (SAP ECC)?

SAP ECC was introduced in 2004 and is a local, modular ERP system designed to support the management of a company’s core business processes. It offers very similar modules and functions to thoseof its successor.
Unlike SAP S/4HANA, it can also be run on databases from third-party providers such as Oracle, MaxDB and IBM.

However, the main difference between SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA lies primarily in the database systems used. The in-memory database architecture of SAP S/4HANA significantly accelerates data processing and data exchange. Huge volumes of data can be analyzed in real time. Furthermore, it offers improved user-friendliness thanks to the intuitive user interface, SAP Fiori.

Unlike SAP ECC, its successor provides cloud-based deployment options and thus also ensures greater flexibility.

Your Path into the Future

In summary, SAP S/4HANA offers more flexibility, efficiency and greater user-friendliness than previous generations. A changeover will be worthwhile in the short or long term for any company interested in future-oriented technology. Nevertheless, such a changeover requires careful planning and preparation.
